Main Portfolio

My works mostly cover themes of adventure, fantasy and nature. The following are collaborations with writers, mostly in children’s books and middle-grade books, or art for my personal projects.

Alternate Art Style

On occasion, I utilize a different art style more inclined to using post-impressionistic and impressionistic techniques. I use this style when the piece calls for a different approach. (eg. portraits, not related to children’s media)

Disclaimer: Some of the works in this section feature subjects which I do not claim intellectual property over. Works of this nature are considered works of “fan-art.”

Chen Bochui International Children’s Literature Award Exhibition (CICLA) 2021

The Chen Bochui International Children’s Literature Award Exhibition (CICLA) is an illustration project, part of the Chen Bochui Awards, that started in 2015 in Shanghai. The goal of this project is to promote the importance of illustration and unite Chinese and International artists.

I was invited and approved to participate in the exhibition of 2021, with the exhibition’s recurring theme being “Common Journey.” My works aimed to show the commonality of experiences between real-world heroes and the heroes in tales and storybooks children grow up with.

The Kitchen Rookie

Cover.jpg

The Kitchen Rookie is a zine/guide containing useful beginner tips and visual references for people who want to start learning to cook.

I made this as a product to sell in art markets, and was a response to my friends who were only learning to cook as of last year but were too anxious to start.

Below are some sample pages from the zine.

Ryuugakusei

Cover.jpg

Ryuugakusei means foreign student in Japanese, and is the title of my zine that featured illustrations highlighting the beautiful scenery I took pictures of while I was an exchange student in Kansai Gaidai, Japan in 2016.

This personal project was very meaningful to me. To emulate the photographic feel, I drew this in a style that I can imagine being used in printmaking. I eventually sold copies of this zine at art markets.

Below are some sample pages from the zine.
